Dmitry Geller: Chinese Seasons

School. Workshop

Among the works of the successful Russian director and artist Dmitry Geller, a special place is occupied by a series of auteur films, which he has been creating together with Chinese students of Jilin Animation Institute since 2011. These original works reflect the motives of ancient oriental folklore (I SAW MICE BURYING A CAT) and the subtlest images of the outstanding Chinese animator Te Wei (A LITTLE POND BY THE GREAT WALL), plastic transformations of Paul Eluard’s poetry (FISHES, SWIMMERS, BOATS) and impressions of an artist’s ordinary life (10 000 UGLY INKBLOTS). Vladivostok’s audience will learn about the unique experience of working with young Chinese colleagues, about the creative ideals and passions of the famous director-animator during his festival workshop DMITRY GELLER — CHINESE SEASONS.
